Workshops to come in 2019
Often referred to as the Sister Science of Yoga, Ayurveda is the traditional system of health promotion and medicine of India, developed alongside Yoga in the ancient Eastern texts. Ayur = “life” and Veda = “knowledge”, Ayurveda (pronounced eye-yur-vay-duh) teaches us how to find wellness and healing by aligning our diets, self-care, and perspectives with the elements and energies of Nature.
Ayurveda is the traditional Indian wellness system that shares the same basis as Yoga and is the natural extension of your regular asana practice and your existing health knowledge. Ayurveda offers a very nature-based framework that helps us to recognize the small choices we can make everyday in our self-care routines, diets, and attitudes to regain balance and promote longevity in our bodies and minds. It teaches us how to see common patterns in ourselves and others throughout the cycles and seasons of our lives and how to use natural and gentle practices to prevent disease.
Lia Scarince is a Yoga Teacher and Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor who has studied with many different lineages of Ayurveda and has synthesized them together for an “everyday ayurveda” approach that doesn’t require exhaustive diagnostic tests or drastic detox practices. Unlike what can be found in some places on the internet, Lia believes Ayurveda is NOT about putting everyone into a category or prescribing strict food/herb regimens. As a certified personal trainer and neurobiology enthusiast, Lia is grounded in modern science and health knowledge and actively studies and teaches the confluence of Eastern and Western thought
